Audionote,
Yaloh...audiolab become audionote...my eye blur already...sorry oh...
Don't worry.....u r not 1st person said i'm mad...crazyman normally won't be upset by other people..... we live in our own world : )
i always remember a word"活在当下“...when u can do & try..don't wait....
Maybe i study too much science & like to bahave as mad sciencetist....
Edison try 400time only invented the light bulb.... then more scientist base on light bulb basic to invent other thing like tube & x-ray....
I initially just try VH audio chris's way of DIY power cord using 2 twisted pure cu (6N), later after i DIY the speaker cable using cat5 i found the result is very good.... then i'm thinking if the tweist is to reduce interfernce & noise, then a cat5 type of pwer code should be better than a pair of twister able... so i try and found the cheap cat5 (<4N) even sound better than teh 6N twisted.... even though Chris (VH audio) not very agree on this construction (safety issue).
I'm not sure whether this power cord bring good effect to those who had use regulator/stabilizer. But for me n my friend, we didn't use regulator/stabilizer, so this power cord really good to reduce the noise.
After we use it (ESPECIALLY ON AMPLIFIER), the noise reduce a lot-->background much clean, sound stage clearer, the air space increase, sound stand out a lot. It's effect is more than a cat5 speaker cable....
mbcy,
the ground cable & purity of the cu play a role on affecting sound quality.
so u need to play around to find the sound suit u...
our experience is that if distance between helix fot ground cable too near (sound will become soft, bass soft a bit), when too far away sound will be a bit harsh since grounding not enough.
as we know there is "skin effect" high frequency travel more on sufface of the conductor, low frequency travel more deep.
if not mistaken 10kHz travel ~0.6mm of the cu conductor.
As such thicker a cable will get more bass, purer ther cu, bass can travel faster so bass-->fast & tight (so cu purity play role here).
i guess if u can get TFTF insulated CAT5/cat6, >4N cu, the effect will be much better!!
AGAIN REMINDER!!! MAKE SURE U DON'T MIX EVEN 1 CABLE (U got 27pair, u mix up 1, u may have problem) i will advise you to try on other electronic part like kettle. I had mix 1 of the cable initially, lucky just jump fuse...."god very kind to me".... |
