I am very glad that UCD has taken so much interest in hong kong. When i first started, and talked to many people about it. No one seems to care........... "Class D" does not get a good reputation.

My very first module was 0024. I think my module (UVD400) was indeed number 24 on this world!

The sound of UCD is very powerful but a bit dry. To me, it is good in dynamic and details, spacial separation. I am using my DIY GG as a preamp to give it just a touch of coloration.

I think i will try UCD700 soon!

BTW, there is a UCD modification thread on www.diyaudio! May be we can start our own thread in HK soon!

Hi ackcheng, Yes, we are going to make UCD more famous in HK

After the initial test, all people feel UCD's bass is very good and the sound is really clear.

Also there are a lots of potential in UCD modifications, please share yours if you have done.

Thanks! I am afraid i cannot come tomorrow! I haven't done modification on my UCD, However, I have tried different caps. Initially I used RIFA 10,000uF. But the bass is not good enough, BHC is better. I may try Sikorel later, but they are very expensive!

One thing is that I think we need to use oversize transformer. I have 400VA transformer for UCD400 which is supposed to output 200W at 8 ohms. However, I could only get 150W before clipping occurs.....

Actually, i am planning to build a home theatre system using UCD 180. For AV, i think it is a very very good choice.

I've just set up my very first home theatre system but found that sound field is too soft and details not clear enough with my AV amp. I want to add a post-amp for the 3 front channels and would like to ask for your advice on the following regarding UCD180 module:
1) Since I'm using 8-ohms speakers, do you think UCD180 is powerful enough to drive them as output would actually drop to 90W on 8 ohms.

I have been using UCD400 and there is plenty of power! I think UCD180 is OK as well. One things is that it has very low output impedance so the damping factor should be quite high!

UCD180,400,700是已砌好的, 只是電源部份PCB是散件.
