How's the AB comparison with the individual filament regulator board? I didn't manage to join 04/02 session and miss the comparison and want to know whats the verdict. Should we all get a board??

我認為用3A穩壓IC(如LT1085,LM350及MC78T12等)會好些.因為如果用E82CC等12AU7代用胆,因燈絲電流比較大,穩壓IC會很熱.

我現在用Mullard E82CC,3組獨立燈絲穩壓(MC78T12),每組AC12V 1.5A輸入,散熱器溫度大約50度C

我唔係話聲音好壞,而係講穩壓IC過熱問題.E82CC燈絲比12AU7大食,LM317未必頂得住.LM350可能會好一點.

計數時間:

12V AC 過橋式 = 17V DC, 共 5V降壓. 700mA一枝 = 3.5W

根據LM317 datasheet, junction to case thermal resistance = 5C/W, 即是 junction temperature 比 ambient 高 17.5度

用12AU7 (150mA) 的話, junction temperature = ambient + 4, 無問題

我現在用78T12, 插12AU7就大約35度左右,插E82CC就大約50度左右.

有一點我認同的是燈絲用LT1085或LM317聲音無分別
