Philips CD18 servo programming, where to start?

Hi,

I am interested in writing my own CD18 (SAA7824) servo program, I am quite ok at C++ but have not written any CD servo program before.

Other than the SAA7824 datasheet and application notes, can you suggest where can I learn more about how to program a CD servo?

before stating, you need

1. License from Philips.
2. Buy a development tools, and sign a NDA.
3. Philips will provide the driver to you. (ASM) and it is only for one kind of laser head matching.
4. You can develop another driver to match another laser head but the support is depends on your size (QTY)
5. Selling and re-production, is under control by philips.
