opa 627bp in MHZS cd33

Hi,

I am a new MHZS CD33 user, just bring my new player back this week.
Plan to change all the e-cap to Blackgate N-series but have no idea which brand of the film-cap represent the best sound quality.
But even the player haven't mod (I changed the tube to WE396A only), I feel it batter than my old Marantz cd67 MK2 SE.

From what I know tungsol is not a good tube for CDP may be it suitable more for OCTAVE's amp. I still like thw WE's sound or else i will try others if i found Bandit.  :

r u sure u 12 try the panasonic fc e-cap, y don't u save that fund for a better cap, if the improvement is not much compare with the origanial cap then forget about it. if u 12 mod must go for the best cap.

Cambridge audio int amp for sale at only 590.00. what u think is that good value for money? how about naim 90.3 power amp for 1,500.00? audiolabs 8000P for 1,200.00? interested?

the speaker introduced by viewer are too costly. harbeth still the best choice and we can afford it. there are no more speaker like harbeth can perform. it is a all rounded speaker that provides good vocal sound, powerful bass, clarity in high frequency, reality sound field, the most importance is we can't get a speaker like harbeth that made in UK selling at this price.

focus audio review is good but it's not a uk made speaker. it's from denmark.

ProAc ofcaurse is a good brand but easyly cost more than 10K.

Sonus faber as you said it's very dissapointed.

Rockpoint is damn expensive

we have not much choices, if you ask me i will suggest these three brands:

Harbeth, spendor, b&w

you can choose based on your buggets. i only trust speaker from uk (made in England) especially old brand that more than 20 years.

the panasonic cap really can not be used, the bass is terrible soft :x
it is not as good as rubycon, may be i have boil it enough time.
i think we should look for another brand, we have to do more reserch about this high value cap.

i am looking for a used audiolab 8000c, 8000s or 8000c + 8000p. can you help me?

after i done a major mod. of my cdp, the vocal is beter now. and i found that fc cap really can not be used at all, the new eca is much more bater then that.

i have an idea of change my speaker also, anyone of your friend is interested? price can be discuss.

I am now having an Audiolab 8000A MK2 integrated Amp, it's look diffenrent compare to yours. Any idea which path or cap should i mod to improve the vocal. Now my hifi set totally changed to cd33, audiolab 8000A for pre, audiolab 8000P for power, QED 25th silver anyversary speaker cable then Rogers LS7t. I am very satisfied at this time. just see is there any cap for my audiolab 8000A. pls advice. :wink:  :wink:  :wink:

anyone know  which op-amp replacment for cd33 are better beside bb opa627, i read a review said that Analog device also having a very high quality op-amp but don't which model.

since my friend mr. superwhite already install bb627 into his cdp, i planned to try the ad797 for something diffenrence because with my audiolab 8000p 100watt per channel + rogers ls7t the low frequency was very good already. but i still haven't check is this op-amp can be found in malaysia or not, hope that mr. windwss can help me to find out  please.
i have an idea to use my audiolab 8000a to drive the HF and audiolab 8000p to drive the LF i had this advice from a hifi chop sifu he said that this arrangement will provide better detail and live field, please advice.
i don't plan to mod. my 8000a until i finished the cdp mod. i still have a few path in cdp need to be mod.

i had comfirmed my audiolab 8000a is MK2 it come with the white ribbon and the volume control also better then ver 1, it is square type. you mentioned that your friiend will help you to bring back the jensen 63v 10000uf ecap from HK, can i know the cost for this ecap and do you believe this is better then the original one. if so can u pls help me to buy also. my 8000a is using 2 units meanwhile the 8000p is using 4 units.

i have ordered the ad797 op-amp it's expected to collect it next monday.
hope that can reduce the noise and give better clarity after i replace the old 2604. the cost of changing is RM 136.00 it is almost RM100.00 cheaper then BB627.

i had changed the the ad797 op-amp when i first push the power button, the cdp was not responding, so i tried turn it off and on again the result is the cdp turn off automatically after count down to 11sec. the third time is until 4sec and following time is it turn off after count down and "no disk" showing. finally, it can be turn on and play cd and it seem like normal.

the ad797 sound is totally diferent from bb2604, it's really ultra low distortion i can said, bass is not as powerful as bb2604, vocal is much more natural, high frequency positioning is more accurate and clear. i can feel like playing LP with this ad797, it's can let you have less digital feel.
but i guess bb627 sound can give me more satisfication rather then ad797.
since i haven't try bb627 in my cdp so i still can give any advice here.

the cd-rom tray ejected but no display from the lcd after i pushed the power button when i check the cdp this morning. second time it's worked.
so i will change back to bb2604 and see is this problem cause by the ad797.

i actually follow the superwhite grouding connection and we are using the same pcb board, the only difference is he using bb627 and mine is ad797.

my cdp look like no problem already, i had tested it for 18 hours yesterday and it's didn't give any problem like before to me. so i guess it's just a minor run in problem.

i had shared some of my view about ad797 before based at lower volume cause i test it at midnight. yesterday i test it again evening and i turn the volume at "normal listening dB". may be the ad797 had been burned-in for one day, the result is much much much more better. bass is more natural it's not so soft but also not so hard, just nice to me at my system. the detail od the high frequency is clear and better positioning. but i really like its vocal, vocal really natural and give me the high end system and live feel. finally is the distortion of this ad797 is extremely low.

Once again my cdp having problem after I changed back BB2604 op-amp, yesterday I was tried to install the origanal op-amp (BB2604) and the cdp totally can't be switch on, the tray was ejected but there is no display from the screen. At last I install the AD797 after I tried for a few times, the cdp was not so reliable, first few times it's also given problem until this morning I try, it's still not perform as normal. The problem now is sometimes it's working sometimes it's can't be switch on, I have to on and off for few time only it's able to be switch on.

I have no idea which path of the cdp is giving problem since I used back the BB2604 it's also can't be switch on.  :?:  :?:  :?:  :?:  :?:  :?:  :?:  :?:  :?:  :?:  :?:  :?:  :?:

did anybody know the best replacement for TL071CP op-amp?

TL071CP is from my 8000P power amp. there are two ICs which located one in each mono circuit, total have two ICs. if OPA627 can be used then i might probally change to it.
