I made a pair LS3/5A 20 yrs ago, all original kits components. The wooden carbinet was made of 6/8" solid wood and size (specially depth) is made 20% bigger than fty made LS3/5A.
You know what, my DIY one beat the fty made LS3/5A down right away.
Mind had deeper bass, wider/deeper sound stage.
Carbinet volume is very important too.
