In case my transformer voltage output low if use bridge rectifier (full wave), if i use voltage double (2 diode & 2 cap) to increase the voltage suppy to the tube, it will be a halfwave, does this bring bring a lot negative effect to the sound quality?

唔好意思,唔係好明! 作者: SSWONG 時間: 2007-11-5 10:00
Sorry modi sir my pc can't type chinese word...
my question is there any sound different if i use the below method to obtain 100V for B+?
1) step down transformer (to 100V) after to through bridge rectifier
2) step down transformer =50v, but i use 2 diode& 2 cap to build a voltage doubler which will increase the voltage to >100V (but it will be a halfwave)作者: kk_ho 時間: 2007-11-5 12:40
Half bridge, may be 50Hz fundmental freq. Lower redidation and harmonic affect to audio but you need a better filte cap to filter the unwanted ripple.
Post your circuit, I use TINA to help you simulate the result and resulatant Capacitor value.
TINA is a tools which developed by TEXAS INSTRUMENT.作者: SSWONG 時間: 2007-11-6 17:36
Thank you KK sir,
This is the diagram.
my tansformer is AC 36V only, if use bridge can give only ~50V.
But use voltage double cn give 99Vdc then i can reduce it to 56v or 60v with zener diode...
