192KHz / 24 bits up-sampling rate converter
Sampling rate converterPlease vote what you are need ?
1. Inside the CDP, additional SPDIF digital out adding to your CDP, a small PCB which include the SRC chip. Input is IIS, output is 96KHz, 24 bit SPDIF. DIP switch setting of the output format (16,20,24), a modify of your CDP is need.
2. Inside DAC like AD1955.
Additional Digital receiver and Input port for SRC, Input from normal CDP SPDIF which output the 24/192 IIS signal direct to DAC.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Advantage:
If case 1, you can use this CDP to match diff kinds of DAC. Which they are claims is support to 96/24. We can open 192 KHz mode, but sure most of the DIR is limit to 96KHz input.
Disadvantage:
For case 1, you need higher technical skill to modify the CDP. Sure you can join CDP modify class.
For case 2, you are limit the SRC only use in your DAC.
Anyway, please vote la. how long would you take to develop this product? 3 week - 5 week.
Should be at another course.
2 mode
Pure direct mode (by pass mode)
24 / 192 mode. which chips are you going to use? Many........
Cirrus Logic, Texas Instrument, Analog Device, Wolfson, AKM.... Quick! I may consider it in CDPRO2! Very interested in my 1955 Pro Dac !! Proposed upsampler system achitecture:
If put in CD, then 44.1k IIS in, 96K SPDIF out.
If put in DAC, then SPDIF in, IIS 196k direct output to DAC, certainly the clock of upsampler is from DAC.
It is best to design the upsampler to suit both modes and let users decide where to locate the upsampler. You will have more customers. Will release both method, but need to checking the feedback on the vote. I think most of the people listen this at SAT and SUN.
Please comment below:
In addition:
It is a possible way:
1. IIS in : IIS out (or LSB, RJ in LSB, RJ out) for you to modify in your CDP.
2. SPDIF IN : IIS OUT for mod in your existing DAC.
3. SPDIF IN : SPDIF OUT (Like a standalone machine)
4. IIS in, SPDIF out (192/24 signal Hi-BIT out)
Which one you like ? (1) most prefer.
(2) kept as additional features.
(3) best for actual product in the market ?
(4) good for your upcoming transport course.
sampling rate converter
I choose Point 2 & 3. I prefer (2), combined with DAC
